About Me

About Me

Renee and Nugget.jpg

I’m Renee, and I understand the deep bond you share with your pet — a companion, family member, and often your closest friend. Having walked through the euthanasia process with my own beloved animals, I know the depth of love and grief that comes with saying goodbye.

Helping animals has always been part of who I am. I’ve volunteered with rescue organizations for many years and served on the Board of Directors of In Memory of Magic, Muttville senior dog rescue, Romania Animal Rescue Inc., and Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary.  I now share my home with two special-needs cats, Waffle and Nutmeg, who inspire me daily.

I am a Certified Companion Animal End-of-Life Doula through the University of Vermont and a proud member of both The Association of Pet Loss and Bereavement (APLB) and The International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care.

Professionally, I hold a Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Psychology, as well as a Master’s in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) — but my heart has always been with animals. Helping them, and the people who love them, is where I feel most at home.

I bring together research, psychology, and heartfelt compassion to support families through their pet’s end-of-life journey with peace and dignity.
